At UTSA Libraries, we understand the importance of providing support to over 500 new students each week as they begin their academic journey at the University of Texas at San Antonio. To ensure these students and their families feel welcomed and equipped to navigate our library resources, we've created The UTSA Libraries Survival Guide—a valuable resource designed to enhance their library experience.
As the designer of The UTSA Libraries Survival Guide, I aimed to create an indispensable tool that empowers students to make the most of their time in the library. The guide offers essential information about library services, resources, and facilities, serving as a roadmap for navigating our extensive collections and spaces.
By providing clear and concise guidance, we aim to ease the transition for new students and enhance their overall academic experience. The Survival Guide is a testament to our commitment to supporting student success and fostering a welcoming environment at UTSA Libraries. The compact booklet, measuring 4.75" x 6.25", serves as a handy reference tool, providing essential information about library services, resources, and facilities.
To make the orientation event even more engaging, we offer various activities, including the 'Library Survival Adventure' mobile game. This innovative game transforms library exploration into an exciting adventure, helping new students familiarize themselves with the library while having fun.
Additionally, we've created a short orientation video promo piece featuring graphic elements from the Survival Guide. This video serves as a visual introduction to the library's offerings, further enhancing the orientation experience for incoming students.
