Texas A&M University-San Antonio Fine Art Commission
For the permanent collection, I created portraits of notable individuals from San Antonio who have made a significant impact on social, civic, and educational awareness. These individuals include Mexican-American author Sandra Cisneros, former NBA player and education advocate David Robinson, restaurateur and philanthropist Raul Jimenez, art patroness Linda Pace, and civil rights activist Reverend Claude Black.
Each portrait measures 4'X5' and was created using a waterborne, low odor, high gloss, environmentally friendly, lead-free, fast-drying, and easy-to-brush acrylic Bulletin Enamel. The gold elements in the background of the paintings are geometrical silhouette shapes that, when aligned together, form the Central Academic or Madla buildings of the main Texas A&M University-San Antonio campus.
