Amidst the constraints of telecommuting and limited resources, I was added to design a series of e-books for the UTSA Libraries and Museums and embarked on a delightful project—creating a series of digital mini-cookbooks featuring favorite recipes from the renowned Mexican Cookbook Collection. This initiative makes it easier than ever to explore the largest collection of its kind in the nation, all from the safety and comfort of home.
The first volume of the 'Recetas' series indulges the sweet tooth with mouthwatering Mexican desserts, including baked bananas, rice pudding, and churros. Volume two tantalizes taste buds with a selection of Mexican beverages, featuring classics like atole, horchata, and even a mezcal margarita. And now, the spotlight shifts to hearty main dishes—or platos fuertes—in the latest release of 'Recetas: Cooking in the Time of Coronavirus,' the e-book series from UTSA Libraries.
These digital publications offer recipes presented in both Spanish and English, ensuring accessibility for all. Best of all, they're free and available to the public, inviting everyone to embark on a culinary journey through the vibrant flavors of Mexico.
